For the next possible date, Heinrich-Heine-University Düsseldorf and
GESIS (department Knowledge Technologies for the Social Sciences),
located in Cologne, is looking for a
*Postdoc / Senior Researcher in Web information extraction (NLP, IR,
machine learning)*
*(**Salary group 13 TV-L, working time 100%, 3 years duration**)
In the context of the DFG-funded project "UnknownData", we will be
working on web mining of research data with partners from
Heinrich-Heine-University Düsseldorf, HeiCAD (Heine Center for
Artificial Intelligence & Data Science), GESIS, Humboldt University
Berlin and DBLP. The project is focused on crawling, extracting and
consolidating research data from the Web, using methods from Web
archiving, information extraction, NLP and machine learning.
Your tasks will be:
* Research in the areas of Natural Language Processing, Knowledge Graphs
and/or Machine Learning, in particular focused on Web information
extraction in large Web archives
* Coordination of the project and project partners
* Supervision of PhD students in the context of the UnknownData project
* Publishing and presenting your research at top-tier conferences/journals
Your profile:
* PhD in Computer Science, Data Science or comparable fields
* Good research track record in one or more of the following areas:
information & knowledge extraction, NLP, knowledge graphs, machine learning
* Good oral and written communication skills in English, knowledge of
German desirable
