Position 1 (Semantic Analysis and Integration of clinical data,
Application Code: 20209)

Description of Position:

The successful candidate will work on the KINBIOTICS project that is
funded by the Ministry of Health in Germany. The goal of the project is
to develop novel artificial intelligence methods that support clinicians
in decision making, in particular for the prediction of effectiveness
and safety of antibiotic therapies. The focus of this position is to
support integration of clinical data into a clinical knowlede graph.

Research topics include:

Development of methods for semantic integration of data into clinical
knowledge graphs
Implementation of novel analysis and visualizations on top of clinical
knowledge graphs
Implementation of intuitive query mechanisms and interfaces supporting
clinicians in accessing the clinical knowledge graph
Development of approaches for mapping of existing clinical datasets to
existing medical/clinical semantic vocabularies for the purpose of
semantic normalization

Master’s Degree or equivalent in computer science, bioinformatics,
medical informatics, data science or related
Experience in working with data and databases
Potential for scientific work
Strong analytical and conceptual skills
Communicative skills
Efficient and organized way of working
Experience with semantic technologies and data integration (desirable)
Experience with developing web applications (desirable)

Duration: 3 years with possible extension, depending on available funds
