KNOWLEDGE TRANSFER PARTNERSHIPS (KTP) 

A Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) is a three-way project between a company, a university and a recently qualified graduate or post-graduate (known as an Associate), which enables the transfer of knowledge, technology and skills to which the company currently has no access.  Supported by the University, KTP Associates manage strategic projects within the company.   

A Y & J Solicitors is a multi-award winning, 10+ years experienced, recommended by Legal 500, UK immigration law firm based in Central London with over 4000+ clients. The University of Bradford team comprises members of the IoT, Networking and Cyber security and Theoretical Computing groups who have a strong and ongoing track record of national and international funded research.

THE PROJECT 

A Y & J Solicitors (trading name of A & Y Law Ltd)  and the Faculty of Engineering & Informatics of University of Bradford are cooperating to transform specialist knowledge and expertise in Artificial Intelligence including Deep Learning and Knowledge Engineering to provide a Knowledge graph based Deep Learning models for supporting Immigration Case Work.

The successful applicant will be embedded in the multi-talented team of enthusiasts who are each specialist in their own field and will be based at A Y & J Solicitors in Central London and will travel to Bradford regularly to spend time with the academic team. This is an excellent opportunity for a well-motivated and capable individual to boost his/her career by joining A Y & J Solicitors. At the end of the project the KTP Associate may be offered the opportunity to join the company on a permanent basis.

KEY REQUIREMENTS 

You will help in building the world’s first AI based Decision support system that understands legal queries and helps the solicitor experts in building a case for immigration applicants.

The post holder must have:

A Strong background in Artificial Intelligence including Deep Learning, Knowledge Engineering and Natural Language processing;  

PhD or MSc degree (or will be expected to achieve soon) in Artificial Intelligence, Mathematics, Computer Science, Machine Learning, Big Data, Data Science, or related subject relevant to project aims;

Strong programming skills with substantial academic/industrial software development experience.
