The open position is in the interdisciplinary DFG project COFFEE – “collaborative forgetting for product development,” which is a part of the DFG priority program “intentional forgetting in organizations.” The goal of COFFEE is to develop methods for the modification of ontology-based knowledge bases and their application in product development in mechanical engineering. You may elect to pursue a doctoral degree at the University of Stuttgart parallel to working in this position. EligibilityApplicants for the position are required to have an M.Sc. in computer science or in a related field as well as an interest in and introductory experience with formal logic. Experience in creating and using ontologies and knowledge of various description logics is also beneficial. Suitable applicants will be scientifically curious, have a wide range of interests, enjoy working with colleagues from other disciplines, and be able to accurately identify and carefully solve scientific computing problems and issues using their own skills. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in an international team are indispensable for the position.
